When Joe Goodeyon Jr. and his wife, Jessica, established Wellhead Systems Inc. in 2007, they nurtured the company with grit, determination and an underlying commitment to their customers. Today, WSI is a world leader in the innovative development and manufacturing of independent wellhead equipment for the oil and natural gas industry.
In a small building they built in Hill City, Kan., the Goodeyon’s were determined, often working 24-hours a day, trading shifts while the other slept in their building’s upstairs living quarters. From the start, innovation was part of their business model, beginning with the development of a line of wellheads that rivaled the quality and functionality of the best casing and tubing heads in the industry.Continuing this development philosophy over the years, WSI now produces the complete production tree. This tenacity for innovation, industry leading quality and service has developed WSI into the market leadership position.
But, the company did not stop there. WSI’s customer-centered approach to doing business has driven Joe Goodeyon and his team to continue their development of new ideas, born from conversations they have each day with customers in the United States and around the world.
Still family owned and still based in Hill City, WSI has come a long way from those early days. It’s manufacturing, assembly and warehouse now covers 35,000 square feet, and instead of a husband and wife team, working 12-hour shifts, there are more than 40 talented product designers, precision machine operators, business development managers and others dedicated to serving oil and natural gas producers, both large and small.
Through it all, WSI continues to push the envelope in new-product development and in making improvements to existing products because the company is committed to providing solutions that drive value for its customers.
